Historic Douglas County, Inc.
Open Space Day at Prairie Canyon Ranch 2012
OPEN SPACE DAY AT PRAIRIE CANYON RANCH 2012 was a great day for family fun and education. Douglas County’s Division of Open Space and Natural Resources and Historic Douglas County, Inc. sponsored this fantastic event which featured exhibits and pioneering demonstrations by various historical societies and agricultural entities around the County, trail riding through and along the valleys, hills and streams of this pristine ranch. There was a “real” Conestoga Wagon, storytelling, hiking, raptors and a number of interesting buildings that have been restored by the County’s Historical Restoration Specialists Johnny Mulligan and Jerry Wlodarek. And, as always as these family functions there was great outdoor prepared food thanks to Flying Horse Catering and superb, harmonious bluegrass music played by the magnificent Kantankerous. Now, if you were with us for this great event, use these pictures to revive some savory minutes of fun. If you were unfortunate and not able to attend, use these pictures to provide you some idea of what you missed …perhaps next year!
