Eastern Colorado Historical Societies & Museum Meeting

On April 27, 2013, Kit Carson County at the incomparable, historic Carousel No. 6 and Carousel Museum in Burlington hosted the semi-annual (“spring”) meeting of the EASTERN COLORADO HISTORICAL SOCIETIES AND MUSEUMS. Jo Downey and the Carousel team did a magnificent job. The meeting was well attended by Cheyenne, Douglas, Elbert, Kit Carson and Lincoln Counties’ members from the respective Counties’ historical societies and museums. The day was a huge success, including a great meeting for sharing event and project activities, an insightful and inspiring presentation by professional artists and museum interior designers, Rand and Karen Hood of Visual West, a superb lunch like only the Eastern Group can do and, of course, an exciting ride on beautiful Carousel No. 6! Everyone left the meeting saying, “Thank you …Thank you …Thank you.” The following thirteen collage pictures representative of the meeting, presentation, Carousel Museum and “Riding the Animals” should inspire you to visit this magnificent venue.
